Los Prados is a 5,1 hectareas vineyard planted in 1982, growing at the foot of Sierra Cantabria at 630 meters in Laguardia, where growing conditions are extreme, with stronger winds and lower temperatures than the rest of the region.

Grapes are hand-picked in 10 kg boxes.

Cold maceration during 4 days at 10ºC.

Fermentation on stainless steel tanks, with controlled temperatures at 26-28ºC.

Maceration post-fermentation of 7 days.

Barrel aging of 12 months on French oak, with a mix of 4 year old barrels and brand new oak.

Black-purple colour.

Intense and elegant aromas of blackberry fruit, with fresh plums, liquorice, blackcurrant and chalk, with fine spicy oak flavours and some minerality.

On the palate the wine shows good structure and freshness. The wine is taut, focused and serious, wit some reduction, fragant oak and spicy black fruit.

Impressive now, but with the harmony and concentration to age very well.
